Noble DHS workers recently met to discuss the upcoming legislative session and the possibility of getting some FTEs filled in their office, while also discussing caseloads and the inability to retain new employees.
OPEA Membership Director Dean Balmer explained to the employees that they need to have meetings with their local legislators to inform them about the OPEA platform.
“Not one employee mentioned getting a salary increase,” says Balmer, “they all were more concerned about having the staff needed to provide the services that are expected from the taxpayers. This DHS office is fired up and ready to meet with their legislators about the issues that affect all DHS employees,” he said.
A meeting is being scheduled and state employees from Norman and Lexington will be encouraged to attend as they are all in the same legislative districts. Time and date of the meeting will be announced with plenty of notice.
