As part of “Public Service Recognition Week,” OPEA representatives Bud Elder, Alicia Wright and Rachelle Johnson travelled to Lawton with stops at several facilities.

“We served lunch to state employees at the Lawton Veterans Center,” Elder said, “then made cookie drops to those at the Lawton Health Department, Lawton DHS and the Jim Taliaferro Mental Health Center.”

Newly signed OPEA member from Lawton is Larry Shannon.

OPEA Executive Director Sterling Zearley says that the week has been a success.

“Beginning on Monday in Enid, and then feeding some 650 people at the Capitol complex, we have had a successful week,” he said.  “Now we look forward to Tulsa and McAlester on Friday.”
