I support state employees and their need of a raise. Am I missing something here? What about retired state employees? They are not being mentioned. Remember what is passed today is what you are going to live with tomorrow when you retire.

So, do we have a Plan? What's Next? Only 2.5 more days before the Legislature takes off for the summer... (unless they decide to go sooner)

I have written/called my reps, I've written the governor, I went to the Red Rally and now I'm wondering if it was all a waste of time... No raise and no hope of any help from any quarter.

It is very apparent to me that neither the governor of the state nor our elected officials truly care what happens to the employees who do the work they take so much credit for.

Does OPEA have a plan of action, or should we all start picking up aluminum cans on the side of the road just to have gas money to make it to work?

I wish I could listen to the podcast. I want to hear about this "long range plan". Unfortunantly, my dial-up doesnt' support the download. Does anyone else know what was said in the podcast?

Thanks.

I see RETIREEES are getting a 4 percent COLA raise...What happened to those of us driving and paying the cost of gas to do the state's business every day?

Their solution was that we work four days a week which will never happen. That is suppose to help us on gas give me a break. A pay raise would have helped. For us that work for DOC I know just in my district that working four days a week will never go into effect. To bad can't go stand in the welfare line still make too much according to them.
